XJAU attends second China-Uzbekistan Universities Cooperation Forum

From November 1st to 4th, Prof. Xie Shuqing, Chair of XJAU Committee, led a delegation to Uzbekistan upon invitation to attend the 2nd China-Uzbekistan Universities Cooperation Forum and participate in a series of high-level educational exchange activities.

The 2nd China-Uzbekistan Universities Cooperation Forum opened on November 2nd. China's Minister of Education, Huai Jinpeng, and Uzbekistan's Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Kongratbay Sharipov, attended the event and delivered keynote speeches. Secretary Xie Shuqing participated in a roundtable meeting as a representative of Chinese higher education institutions, engaging in in-depth discussions on the theme of China-Uzbekistan Educational Cooperation under the 'Belt and Road' Framework and China-Central Asia Integrated Development.

On the morning of November 3rd, Secretary Xie Shuqing was invited to speak at the Higher Education and Science and Technology Sub-forum. He delivered a keynote report titled Joining Hands to Create New Opportunities, Deepening Cooperation to Write a New Chapter – Building a New Model for Joint Training of High-Level Talents between China and Uzbekistan. In his speech, he systematically introduced XJAU's educational characteristics and achievements in international academic exchanges. He put forward several forward-looking cooperation proposals focusing on core areas such as joint training in digital talent, scientific research collaboration in key fields, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges, which garnered widespread recognition from the attending representatives.

During the forum's signing ceremony, the university formally signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Karakalpak Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnologies.

During the forum period, the delegation paid a special visit to Tashkent State Agrarian University, holding working talks with the university's Rector, Professor Obłomuradov Narzullo, and heads of relevant departments. The delegation also conducted on-site research at the Uzbekistan-China Education and Science Research Center, jointly established by XJAU and Tashkent State University of Economics, and warmly greeted Associate Professor Ma Xuemei, who is stationed at the center on behalf of XJAU.

This visit represents a key initiative by the university to actively serve the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and deeply integrate into the China-Central Asia cooperation on education, industry, academia, and research. Through high-level dialogues, thematic presentations, and pragmatic discussions, the university's academic influence and recognition in the Central Asian region have been significantly enhanced, contributing to the building of a closer China-Central Asia educational cooperation community.
